Aggie Men’s Tennis Wins at Ole Miss

OXFORD, MISS. - The No. 7 Texas A&M men's tennis team bounced back from Friday's setback with a commanding 4-1 victory at No. 22 Ole Miss Sunday afternoon at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center in Oxford, Mississippi.
The Aggies were tripped up in doubles action dropping the point to the Rebels. The home team was able to claim wins from Fabian Fallert and Grey Hamilton 6-4 over Harrison Adams and Shane Vinsant on court two along with a 7-6(5) tie-breaker win by Stefan Lindmark and Gustav Hansson over Jordi Arconada and AJ Catanzariti on court three. The 25th-ranked pair of Jackson Withrow and Arthur Rinderknech topped 48th-ranked Filip Kraljevic and Zvonimir Babic 6-3 on court one.
The Aggies and Rebels split first sets in singles action. Withrow dominated in a 6-1, 6-1 win over Hamilton on court five to even the match at one-all. Adams dropped his first set to Fallert on court four, but was able come back and win 6-2 in both sets two and three to put A&M up 2-1 over the Rebels.
No. 34 Vinsant was able to defeat Hansson in three-sets on court two, pushing the Aggie lead to 3-1. Moments later No. 67 Arconada topped Kraljevic 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 on court three to clinch the road victory for Texas A&M.
The Aggies return to the Mitchell Tennis Center for a pair of double-header next weekend. Friday A&M will face Tyler JC at noon before taking on Mississippi State at 6 p.m. Sunday at noon A&M and Alabama faceoff, followed by Rice taking on the Aggies at 6 p.m.
