Candace Sumner joined the athletics department in the summer of 2018 as Travel Account Manager for Aggie Athletics.
In her role as account manager, she coordinates travel for Texas A&M's University Athletics, individual, recruiting, recruits and team travel. This includes individual commercial air, team group commercial air, individual/ team group hotel room contracts, rental cars and charter buses for team travel. .
Candace has worked in the travel industry since 1980. She started her career with Delta Airlines before shifting to Corporate Travel in the Oil and Gas Industry. The majority of her career has been spent in Oil and Gas, as well as in Management.
The Houston native grew up coming to A&M football games and the bonfires on campus. Candace is part of a family that is five generations of Aggie pride.
She is married to Randy Sumner and has one son, Tyler Powell, a 2016 graduate of Texas A&M.
Candace enjoys watching the Astros and collegiate sports. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, fishing, and traveling.
