Five Aggies Land on ITA Top 125

TEMPE, Ariz. – Five Aggies headlined the ITA Top 125 preseason women's tennis singles ranking released Tuesday. The Maroon & White also featured two doubles tandems in the top 40.
Nicole Khirin landed at No. 7 with Mia Kupres coming in at No. 22. Lucciana Perez was ranked No. 32, followed by Daria Smetannikov at No. 64 and Lexington Reed at No. 116. Texas A&M was one of eight teams boasting five or more players in the top 125.
On the doubles side, Khirin/Perez slotted in at No. 11 with Kupres/Smetannikov at No. 38.
Last season playing mainly on court 2, Khirin put up an astounding 32-7 in singles record and 27-6 doubles mark. She earned All-American and All-SEC First Team status in 2024-25.
Coming off an impressive junior year which warranted All-SEC Second Team and NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team recognition, Kupres logged a 27-6 singles record while going 18-15 in doubles.
Perez picked up where she left off following her freshman season, going 23-7 in singles and 19-6 in doubles. She claimed All-SEC Second Team honors, while earning SEC Player of the Week following her astounding clinch with league regular season championship on the line.
Smetannikov notched a 29-12 singles record, while earning 24 doubles wins. With her highest rank yet, she looks to keep her dominance going into the 2025-26 season.
Reed comes into her sophomore season after finishing 29-8 in singles while 20-6 in dual play as a rookie. Also boasting a 24-9 doubles record, Reed earned SEC Freshman of the Week three times and First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll for 2024-25.
