Oct 24, 2025 | Volleyball
BATON ROUGE – The No. 9 Texas A&M volleyball team extended its winning streak to four as it downed LSU Friday evening at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-23).
The Maroon & White's (16-3, 8-1 SEC) win streak grew to four following an impressive team victory LSU (10-10, 3-6 SEC). Texas A&M held the Tigers to a .123 hitting percentage while logging 11 blocks as a unit paced by Ifenna Cos-Okpalla's seven. On offense, Logan Lednicky recorded her ninth-straight game with double-digit kills with 14 on the match.
The hosts opened the match on the front foot, leading by three as they struck double digits (10-7). LSU built out its lead to four at the midway point (16-12), but the Aggies started their comeback and held it through a Tiger timeout on an 8-4 run to knot the teams at 20. LSU recaptured its rhythm late and pulled away to take the opener, 25-22.
Both programs traded blows in the early portion of the second set (7-7), but it was the Maroon & White who forged separation through an 8-0 run as the Tigers burned both their timeouts (15-7). The onslaught continued, as Texas A&M had doubled the point total late in the frame (20-10). The Aggies didn't let up, taking the frame (25-14) and knotting the match at one frame all.
Back-and-forth scoring started the third, as the teams found level on four occasions as they each hit double digits (10-10). LSU strung together a run to lead (15-12), however it was instantly answered by the Maroon & White with a 10-3 streak of their own as LSU called a pair of timeouts, 22-18. The Tigers pushed late, but it wasn't enough as Texas A&M won the frame (25-22) to lead in the match, 2-1.
The Aggies carried their momentum into the fourth, ripping off a 10-5 run to open the frame. The Tigers settled in as head coach Jamie Morrison gathered his squad with a timeout, 11-9. The teams proceeded to strike blows, finding level at 20-20. The deadlock continued to 23-23, but it was the Maroon & White who struck the final two points to take the set (25-23) and match, 3-1.
