Wally Moon’s versitile athletic abilities were recognized during his collegiate career with letters in both baseball and basketball in 1949 and 1950. He went on to play in the Major Leagues for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1954 through 1958 and the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1959 to 1965. He was a member of three World Championship Los Angeles Dodgers teams in 1959, 1963, and 1965. Following his playing days, he was Athletic Director and Baseball Coach at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, from 1966 to 1976. Owner of the San Antonio baseball franchise in the AA Texas League from 1976-1980. Wally later served as a hitting instructor and minor league manager in the Cardinal, Yankee, and Oriole organizations before retiring in Bryan, Texas. Among his other athletic accompishments are:
