John Kimbrough, star player of the 1939 National Championship Sugar Bowl, was infamous for his bone jarring collisions and nearly unstopable pushes to the end zone. “Jarrin’ John” carried the ball over the goal line twice in A&M’s 14-13 victory over Tulane for the national title. Twice nominated for the Heisman, Kimbrough ranks among Texas A&M’s greatest players. Among his other athletic honors may be included:
