2021: Indoor - Opened the season winning the Ted Nelson Invitational high jump (1.83m/6-0) and long jump (6.62m/21-8.75)...Set the school high jump record clearing 1.87m/6-1.5 at the Aggie Invitational, also clocked 8.34 in the 60m hurdles...Won the Texas Tech Invitational pentathlon in record fashion with 4,612 points, she set the Aggie school record and became the third best performer in collegiate history...She bettered her school high jump record clearing 1.91m/6-3.25, the fifth best clearance during the pentathlon...The multi-athlete was named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week for her efforts...Most recently, Gittens improved her personal best 60m hurdles mark clocking 8.28 at the Charlie Thomas Invitational, eighth best in school history...Won the Tyson Invitational high jump with a clearance of 1.88m/6-2, the second best performance in school history behind her own school record...Scored 23 points at the SEC Championships winning the high jump (1.89m/6-2.25) and long jump (6.62m/21-8.75) titles, also placed sixth in the pentathlon...Won the Cliff Harper Award being the top point scorer at the SEC Championships, became the first athlete to win the award outright in back-to-back seasons since 1997...Gittens scored 26 points at the NCAA Championships to help the Aggies place second in the team stands with 57 points...She won the national championship in the pentathlon, high jump and placed third in the long jump, her 26 point performance ranks No. 3 all-time in collegiate history. 2020: Indoor - Recorded two top-3 individual finishes at the season opener Texas A&M Reveille Invitational, won the high jump (1.82m/5-11.5) and third in the 60m hurdles (8.48)...Placed fourth in high jump at the Texas Tech Invitational with a clearance of 1.84m/6-0.5...Won the pentathlon at the Charlie Thomas Invitational with 4,276 points...Recorded a personal best indoor long jump mark of 6.42m/21-0.75 to finish third at the Tiger Paw Invitational...Had a breakout performance scoring 21 points for the Aggies at the SEC Championships winning the pentathlon with an SEC and Texas A&M record score of 4,391 points, also equaled the school record in high jump placing third (1.85m/6-0.75) and finished fourth in long jump (6.27m/20-7)...Was the only female athlete to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships in three individual events, she entered the meet No. 1 in the pentathlon, No. 3 in high jump and No. 11 in long jump before the meet being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic...Was named the USTFCCCA South Central Regional Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, the second regional athlete of the year award in her career. 2019: Indoor - Did not compete. Outdoor - NCAA silver medalist in heptathlon with score of 6,049 points, the No. 2 performance on the Aggie all-time list behind her school record of 6,074 set in 2018 … Also competed in high jump, placing 16th … Produced top marks in NCAA heptathlon in high jump (6-1 ½ | 1.87) and long jump (20-8 ½ | 6.31), second best effort in shot put (44-2 ½ | 13.47) and third best in 200 (23.86) … Scored 22 points in the SEC Championships, placing second in high jump (5-11 ½ | 1.82) and heptathlon (5,793) as well as third in the long jump (21-5 ¼ | 6.53), which equaled the school record set by Adrien Sawyer in 1997 … Opened season winning high jump (5-11 ¼ | 1.81) at Baldy Castillo Invitational and throwing the javelin (126-10 | 38.66) … Produced a mark of 43-2 ½ (13.17) in shot put at UTSA Roadrunner Invitational … Led the first day of the Texas Relays heptathlon with 3,709 points, but did not compete on the second day … First day marks included 13.82 in the 100m hurdles, 6-1 ½ (1.87) in the high jump, 45-7 (13.89) in the shot put and 25.39w (2.4) in the 200m … Won high jump (5-11 ¼ | 1.81) at Reveille Meet, finished first in long jump (20-9 | 6.32) at Texas A&M Invitational and won long jump (21-1 ¼ | 6.43) at Michael Johnson Invitational.
International: Represented Trinidad & Tobago in the heptathlon at the Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru … First day leader with 3,766 points, but did not finish the competition on day two after dropping to sixth place following the long jump and javelin … Marks from the first day included 13.63 in the 100m hurdles, a high jump of 6-0 (1.83), shot put 44-0 ¾ (13.43) and 24.19 in the 200m.
2018: Indoor - Gittens became just the second Aggie to score in the NCAA pentathlon as she matched the eighth-place finish of Jena Hemann in 2014… Gittens posted a career best of 8.35 in the 60m hurdles to start the NCAA pentathlon, improving upon her previous best of 8.51 set in December … The 8.35 ranks her No. 9 on the Aggie all-time list … Earned SEC All-Freshman honors as she was the top freshman in the pentathlon as she placed fifth with a score of 4,121 points to better the national record and junior record for Trinidad & Tobago … Also placed seventh in high jump at SEC Indoor with 5-10 ¾ (1.80) clearance … Initial performance in the indoor pentathlon for Texas A&M produced a national record and junior record as she totaled 4,009 points to place third in the Arkansas Razorback Invitational … Cleared 5-10 ¾ (1.80) to win high jump at Texas A&M Quadrangular … Posted a long jump win of 20-2 ½ (6.16) at the Ted Nelson Invitational … Debut effort in an Aggie uniform came during the Reveille Invitational in December where she won the high jump at 5-10 ¾ (1.79) and won the 60m hurdles in a then career best of 8.51. Outdoor - Named SEC Freshman Field Athlete of the Year as voted upon by the conference coaches … Earned her second All-America honor by placing eighth in the heptathlon (5,748 points) at the NCAA Outdoor Championships … Indoors, she claimed her first All-America honor by placing eighth in the pentathlon with a national record tally of 4,197 points, which also ranks No. 2 performer with No. 3 performance on the Aggie all-time list … Scored 20 points in three events during the SEC Outdoor Championships, winning the heptathlon while placing third in high jump and fifth in long jump … Produced a career best score of 6,074 points in winning the SEC heptathlon, which is the best score ever by a freshman during the collegiate season … Broke the Aggie school record in the heptathlon as well as the Trinidad & Tobago national record and junior national record … Bettered her previous best score of 5,700 points as runner-up in the Texas Relays … Previous school record was 6,038 points set by Annie Kunz during the 2016 Olympic Trials … Topped the previous Trinidad & Tobago national record score of 5,962 points set in 2004 by Marsha Mark-Baird … Her first day score in the SEC heptathlon totaled 3,842 points and established a meet record, bettering the previous standard of 3,820 points set in 2015 by Erica Bougard of Mississippi State … The impressive performance in winning the SEC heptathlon produced three marks that placed Gittens among the top 10 performers on the Aggie all-time list in the 100m hurdles (13.21, No. 10 performer), high jump (6-1 ¼ [1.86], No. 3 performer, No. 4 performance), and long jump (20-10 ¾ [6.37], No. 5 performer, No. 7 performance) … Competing in the open long jump the same day she completed the heptathlon, Gittens improved her career best to 21-2 ¾ (6.47), which ranks No. 2 on the A&M all-time list behind the school record of 21-5 ¼ (6.53) set in 1997 by Adrien Sawyer … Gittens’ series in the open long jump included marks of 21-2 ½ (6.46), No. 3 performance, and 21-1 ¼ (6.43), the No. 7 performance … As runner-up in the Texas Relays heptathlon, Gittens scored a then career best 5,700 points to better her previous tally of 5,490 points from the previous summer (July 4, 2017 in Ottawa, Canada) and improved her national junior record while moving to No. 2 on the senior all-time list for Trinidad & Tobago … Won long jump at UTSA Roadrunner Inv. with a leap of 20-3 ½ (6.18) and finished fourth in 100m hurdles at 13.77 … Outdoor campaign opened with a long jump runner-up mark of 20-0 ½ (6.11) at Baldy Castillo Invitational …
High School: 2017 graduate of The Ensworth School in Nashville, Tennessee … Established career best marks in high school of 6-0 ¾ (high jump), 20-11 ½ (long jump) and 5,377 points (heptathlon) … Senior season included winning TSSAA State titles in high jump (5-9), long jump (20-1 ¾), 100 hurdles (14.20), 200m (24.92), and pentathlon (4,153) … Her career collection of Tennessee outdoor state titles totaled 17 gold medals over four years – 200m [3], 100m hurdles [3], high jump [4], long jump [3], pentathlon [4] … Scored 50 points in State outdoor meet three consecutive years, becoming the first to accomplish the feat in consecutive seasons … Indoors, won State titles in high jump and long jump as a junior and senior to add four more gold medals to her state collection for a grand total of 21 … Set a career best of 20-11 ½ indoors to win long jump at 2017 Vanderbilt Invitational … In 2016, established career best score of 5,377 point to win AAU Junior Olympics title in Humble, Texas … Previous best heptathlon score of 5,164 points came from runner-up performance in New Balance Nationals previous in summer of 2016.
