Missouri (36-21) pounced on the Aggies for two runs in the top of the first inning. Connor Brumfield started the game by slapping a single through the left side of the infield. With one out, Glendinning drew a four-pitch walk and Brett Bond singled to rightfield to load the bases. John Doxakis got ahead of Trey Harris in the count, 1-2, before hitting him with a pitch to push Brumfield across for the ice breaker. The Tigers added a second run when Glendinning came home on Kameron Misner's groundout to first base.
The Aggies responded with four runs in the home half of the first. Nick Choruby was issued a base on balls to start the inning and moved to second on a groundout to third base by Logan Foster. Braden Shewmake gapped a single to left-center to score Choruby. After Hunter Coleman was hit by a pitch, Blake Kopetsky punched a single through the right side and Choruby came around to score when rightfielder Kirby McGuire mishandled the ball. Coleman and Kopetsky moved into scoring position on Cole Bedford's grounder back to the mound. Cam Blake drove a full count offering to leftfield to knock in both runners and stake the Aggies to a 4-2 advantage.
The Tigers tied the game up with two runs in the top of the second. Alex Samples, the last batter A&M starter John Doxakis would face, drew a five-pitch walk. Matt Berler knocked the second pitch from Kaylor Chafin over the fence in left-center for the game-tying home run.
Texas A&M (36-21) wrangled the lead back in the bottom of the third. Coleman was hit by a pitch to start the inning and Kopetsky followed with a single through the right side. Bedford pushed both runners into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. Blake knocked in Coleman with an infield single and Austin Homan pushed Kopetsky across with a squeeze bunt to give the Maroon and White a 6-4 margin.
Missouri reclaimed the advantage, 8-6, with a grand slam by Robbie Glendinning in the top of the fourth. The Bases were juiced with a leadoff walk by Berler, an error on a sacrifice bunt attempt by Brumfield and a walk to McGuire.
The Tigers tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the fifth with a solo home run by Chris Cornelius to start the frame and Samples scoring on a throwing error by Homan on McGuire's grounder to short to inflate the Missouri cushion to 10-6.
The Aggies threatened for a big inning in the home half of the fifth, loading the bases, but managed just one run. Coleman doubled down the leftfield line to start the frame and Bedford was issued a base on balls with one out, driving starter Tanner Houck from the game.
Reliever Andy Toelken walked Blake on four pitches to fill the bags with Ags. Austin Homan came a few feet from tying the game as he drilled a 3-1 pitch just left of the leftfield foul pole. He chopped the next offering to second base, knocking in Coleman on the fielder's choice. Pinch-hitter Jorge Gutierrez was unable to inflict any more damage, flying out to leftfield.
Missouri stretched the lead back out to four runs as Bond started the inning with a wall-banger to rightfield for a double and Harris followed with an RBI single, giving Missouri an 11-7 edge.
The Tigers kept their foot on the pedal in the seventh. McGuire singled up the middle with one out and moved to second on a wild pitch. Glendinnig knocked him in with a single up the middle for the 12-7 advantage.
Doxakis faced eight batters on the day, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two in 1.0 inning plus one batter in the second. Chafin (7-2) was saddled with the loss. He allowed seven runs, five earned, on four hits and three walks while striking out one in 3.0 innings.
