SERIES PREVIEW: Bowling Green
Feb 16, 2017 | Baseball
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies open the 2017 season Friday as they host the Bowling Green State Falcons in a three-game series on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
The Maroon and White boast two preseason All-Americans, including juniors Brigham Hill and Corbin Martin who were each named to two of the four nationally recognized squads. Martin was also named to the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award preseason watch list.
Texas A&M opens the season ranked four of the five nationally recognized polls. The USA Today Coaches Poll, D1Baseball.com Top 25, NCBWA Poll and Collegiate Baseball ranking all have the Aggies slotted No. 20.
The Aggies look to build on the 2016 campaign which saw the Maroon and White go 49-16, including 20-10 in the SEC. Texas A&M won the program's first SEC Tournament title. The Aggies extended their school-record string of NCAA Championship appearances to 10 consecutive seasons and claimed their eighth NCAA Regional title.
Every game of the series will be available for viewing on SEC Network + with Will Johnson and Mark Johnson on the call. SEC Network + provides digital-only events to SEC Network subscribers through WatchESPN and the ESPN app on smartphones, computers, tablets and connected devices (Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One). All three games will air on SportsRadio 1150/102.7 The Zone.
