
Rinderknech and Vinsant Named to All-SEC First Team

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M's Arthur Rinderknech and Shane Vinsant were named to the men's tennis All-SEC First Team Thursday afternoon by the league's coaches. Rinderknech and Vinsant helped the Aggies advance to the SEC Tournament semifinals after finishing the season 26-9 and 8-4 in league play.
Rinderknech paced the Aggies with a 26-11 singles record, including an impressive 14 wins against ranked opponents. The Paris, France native, was the highest ranked SEC singles player in five of seven published rankings this spring. Rinderknech partnered with senior Jackson Withrow to earn a career-high No. 6 ranking in the latest ITA doubles poll after compiling a 28-8 mark, going 12-5 alongside Withrow.
Currently ranked as the nation's No. 19 singles player, Rinderknech was named to the SEC All-Tournament team for the second consecutive season, helping the Aggies advance to the semifinals for the fourth straight season.
Vinsant owns a 22-15 record through the SEC Tournament, tallying nine wins against ranked players. The Keller, Texas, native was ranked in every singles and doubles poll this spring, reaching as high as No. 29 in singles and No. 12 in doubles. The right-hander earned All-SEC recognition all four years in the Maroon & White.
The senior was named to the first team in each of his final three seasons after being named to the SEC All-Freshman and second team as a rookie. Currently ranked No. 53 in singles and No. 52 in doubles, the senior is nearing 100 wins in both singles (98-46) and doubles (97-51) during his career at Texas A&M.
The Aggies await the NCAA Men's Tennis Championship bracket announcement which is set for May 3 at 4:30 p.m. First and second round matches will be on campus at the tournament's top-16 seeds. The ensuing NCAA Men's Tennis Championship will be played at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. beginning on May 19.
