COLLEGE STATION, Texas – With the conference slate nearing the midway point, the No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies travel to Starkville, Mississippi to take on the top team in the SEC Western Division. The No. 8 Mississippi State Bulldogs are 8-4 in SEC action, one game ahead of the Aggies in the West.
Texas A&M enters the game with a four-game win streak, but the Aggies are looking to snap a four-game road losing string.
HUNTER MELTON highlights the Aggie offense. Named the SEC Player of the Week on Monday, Melton has a 10-game hit streak going. Over the span, he is batting .500 (20-for-40) with eight runs, four doubles, one triple, four home runs and 14 RBI. He had three home runs and 10 RBI in the three-game sweep of Georgia.
The Aggie pitching staff is looking to replicate last weekend's performance. In the three-game sweep of the Georgia Bulldogs, A&M's starting pitchers worked 23.0 innings, allowing just three runs on 18 hits and four walks while striking out 22.
