Top-ranked Aggies Travel for Tuesday Tilt at Houston

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 1 Texas A&M Aggies continue their string of games against ranked opponents, traveling to face the No. 25 Houston Cougars in a Tuesday night showdown at Schroeder Park.
The Maroon and White face the Cougars between winning two of three against No. 13 LSU last weekend and a three-game series at No. 3 Florida starting Friday.
The Aggies look to extend a 24-game midweek win streak.
Texas A&M has seven players hitting over .300, including BOOMER WHITE (.404), J.B. MOSS (.396), NICK CHORUBY (.351), MICHAEL BARASH (.350), RYNE BIRK (.338), HUNTER MELTON (.311) and JOEL DAVIS (.311).
The Aggies rank third in the nation in batting average with a .336 mark. Texas A&M also ranks fifth in triples per game (0.58), sixth in slugging percentage (.507), eighth in on-base percentage (.416), 13th in scoring (8.2) and 24th in doubles per game (2.25).
On the mound, the Aggies rank second in the nation in shutouts (5), ninth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.5) 12th in strikeouts per nine innings (9.6), 16th in ERA (2.65) and WHIP (1.13).
The Aggies earned top billing in the USA Today Coaches Poll on Monday, as well as in the D1Baseball.com, Baseball America and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association rankings. It marks the second consecutive year the Aggies have reached to No. 1 spot in the national rankings.
