COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies put a 10-game win streak and 16-game home win streak on the line when they host the Texas Longhorns in a Lone Star shootout Tuesday evening on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
The Aggies are sending BRIGHAM HILL to the mound with a 2-0 record and 1.40 ERA. The sophomore is holding opponents to a .233 batting average and boasts a 0.98 WHIP with 19 strikeouts in 19.1 innings.
Texas A&M enters the fray with a team ERA of 2.01 and .191 opponent batting average. They've yielded just 22 extra-base hits in 148.0 innings. The Maroon and White rank fourth in the nation in strikeouts per nine innings (10.7), fifth in K-to-BB ratio (3.91), sixth in WHIP (0.99) and eighth in ERA (2.01). The Aggies lead the nation with five shutouts on the year.
The Aggies are outscoring opponents 136-35 on the season, including 99-23 after the third inning and 62-10 in the middle third of games.
