Zach Jackson held No. 8 LSU to two hits in the first eight innings, but the Tigers pushed four runs across in the top of the ninth to defeat No. 14 Texas A&M, 4-0, and advance to the College World Series before 7,607 fans at Alex Box Stadium.
LSU entered the game with a team batting average of .334. Jackson (10-7) fanned eight and walked just two in 8.2 innings of work.
Matt Liuzza started the top of the ninth by lacing a single to left and Jon Zerengue followed with a chopper through the left side. After Jackson walked Nick Stavinoha to load the bases, Clay Harris lifted a sacrifice fly to center to advance all three runners a base.
Jackson coaxed a harmless pop-up to the infield for the second out of the inning before Matt Harris hit a first-pitch change-up which cleared the wall in left giving the Tigers a 4-0 lead.
With the loss, the Aggies ended their season with a record of 42-22 while LSU advanced with a record of 46-17.
Tigers' starter Lane Mestepey pitched a complete-game shutout, scattering five hits. He struck out one hitter and allowed one walk.
The Aggies had runners in scoring position in each of the first four innings but were unable to push them across. During that span LSU starter Lane Mestepey held the Aggies hitless in six at bats with runners in scoring position.
Craig Stinson was the only A&M player to collect two hits in the game, doubling in the fourth tagging a two-out single in the ninth.
Seven Aggie seniors - Matt Alexander, Brian Bowe, Justin Moore, Cory Patton, Justin Ruggiano, Eric Scheidt and Erik Schindewolf - played their last game in the maroon and white uniforms.
