Austin Boggs collected four of the Aggies' season-high 19 hits and Jason Meyer struck out nine over seven innings as No. 15 Texas A&M defeated Kansas, 14-4, at Hoglund Ballpark.
Meyer improved to a perfect 6-0 on the season as he allowed six hits and two runs while walking three.
Boggs drove in four runs and was only a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle and Erik Schindewolf, who had three hits, was a triple shy of the same feat.
Every A&M starter had at least one hit, including Pennington, Stinson and John Infante, who each had two.
In addition to Boggs' four RBI, Schindewolf, Stinson and Ruggiano each drove in three.
With the win, the Aggies improved to 28-8 overall and to 5-5 in Big 12 play. Kansas dropped to 23-15-1 and 1-6.
The Aggies touched Kansas starter Ryan Knippschild for two run sin the top of the first. Scindewolf walked and moved to second on Pennington's single through the left side. Boggs followed with a double down the line in left to score Schindewolf and Stinson's sacrifice fly to center drove in Pennington.
Five more runs in the second stretched the A&M lead to 7-0. Schindewolf got the scoring started with a three-run homer which also scored Cory Patton and Infante. Pennington singled and scored on a triple to right by Boggs, who later scored on a single by Stinson.
Kansas scored its first run of the game in the bottom of the fifth to cut the A&M lead to 7-1. With two outs, Kyle Kilgo drew a walk, moved to second on a single by Matt Baty, and scored on a single by Ritchie Price.
A lead single by Boggs, a walk to Stinson and a two-RBI double by Ruggiano was enough to chase Knippschild with no outs in the seventh.
Knippschild (5-5) lasted six-plus innings, allowing nine runs (all earned) on 12 hits. He struck out two and walked two.
Sean Richardson's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh made the score 9-2.
The Aggies tacked on three runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth. Boggs drove in both runs in the ninth with his fourth hit of the evening.
A&M reliever Kyle Nicholson pitched the final two innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He struck out three and did not walk a man.
Game two of the series will played on Saturday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Hoglund Ballpark.
