COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M was listed at No. 13 in a very early preseason poll for the 2013-14 season by ESPN women’s basketball analyst Charlie Creme.
This past season the Aggies (25-10) captured Texas A&M’s first ever SEC Championship at the league’s postseason tournament and participated in their eighth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The team recorded its eighth consecutive 20-win season under head coach Gary Blair and was ranked as high as No. 9 in the nation. A&M finished the regular season with the 14th-best attendance in the nation, averaging 5,556 fans per game at Reed Arena.
Creme listed sophomores-to-be Courtney Williams and Courtney Walker as players to watch next season with the anticipation of expanded roles following the departure of seniors Adrienne Pratcher and Kristi Bellock as well as junior Kelsey Bone, who became the fifth pick in the WNBA draft. The women’s basketball analyst also listed senior-to-be Karla Gilbert as a player he expects to emerge in the upcoming season.
The 2012-13 Texas A&M women's basketball team will hold its annual end-of-season banquet on Tuesday, April 23, at 6 p.m. at The Zone Club at Kyle Field.
