2013 Aggies CAN

It's that time of year again! Aggies CAN is approaching, the largest student-athlete run canned food drive in the nation held right here in Aggieland by your Aggie Athletes. This year, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee is partnering with the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets as we continue the tradition of selfless service to the Brazos community.

With last year’s success of raising more than $20,000 and more than 6,000 pounds of canned goods, our contributions helped the Brazos Valley Food Bank get through their toughest times. We are raising the bar this year and believe that with our partnership with the Corps of Cadets we can raise $25,000 and 8,000 pounds of canned goods to support - not only the Brazos Valley Food Bank - but a new on-campus food bank called the 12th Can that will serve as an additional source of support for the common mission of eradicating hunger in the Brazos Valley.

In an effort to make more of an impact, Whataburger is the proud sponsor of this year’s Aggies CAN. For every dollar donated or every 2 canned goods you will be given a coupon for FREE Whataburger. Look for us in our lime green at both Whataburger locations from 11-1pm on October 23 and 24th and then on October 25 at the Soccer and Volleyball games as well as October 26th when we BTHO Vanderbilt. We will be collecting monetary and canned food donations.

  • Bring a can; get in free to the Soccer and Volleyball games.
  • The first 15,000 people to give a monetary donation of at least $1 or donate two canned good items at Soccer, Volleyball or Football will receive a coupon for a free Whataburger.
  • Donate online at www.bvfb.org/donate.html
  • Donate $5 by texting FOOD to 20222

About Aggies CAN

Aggies Can History: Aggies Can started in the year 2000 with a handful of Student-Athletes wanting to give back to the community that gave so much to them.

It started out as an idea to collect canned food at one football game...it has now turned into the largest student-athlete run canned food drive in the nation, all taking place on the A&M campus at three Aggie Athletic events: Soccer, Volleyball, and Football.

Aggies CAN is a solely student-athlete volunteer and run canned food drive, focused on giving back and impacting the Brazos Valley.
