Meredith Collier is in her seventh year with the Texas A&M athletic department after joining the staff as a student worker in August 2008. Her primary assignments are to the Aggie football, softball and equestrian teams.
In her fifth year as a full-time employee, Collier has worked with the Texas A&M softball team as the Aggies tackled four NCAA Tournament berths, including a pair of Super Regional runs in 2011 and 2013. She spent two years as the assistant sports information director for the A&M soccer team, handling the publicity and coverage of two Big 12 Championships and two NCAA postseason appearances. Collier has hosted four NCAA postseason events, including the 2011 NCAA Soccer First Round and the 2011, 2012 and 2013 NCAA College Station Softball Regionals.
Collier began working with the Texas A&M football team in the Aggies’ first year in the Southeastern Conference in 2012. She has been with the team through two bowl game wins (2013 Cotton Bowl, 2013 Chick-fil-A Bowl) and several individual award campaigns. As the Editor in Chief of the football game day programs, her primary responsibility with the football team is the production of the 240-page books for each home game.
Prior to full-time status, Collier was a student worker in the sports information department at Aggie Athletics, assisting with soccer and softball. She also held internships with Spurs Sports and Entertainment in San Antonio, Texas, and U.S. Figure Skating in Colorado Springs, Colo., and was the sports editor for Aggieland yearbook in 2008-09.
Collier got her start in sports information in the summer of 2008 as the primary media contact for the Texarkana Gunslingers, a then-independent professional baseball team in the Continental Baseball League. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communication with a minor in Spanish from Texas A&M in May of 2010.
A native of Comfort, Texas, Collier is the daughter of Steve ’79 and Patty ’79 Collier of Texarkana, Texas.
