2013 (JUNIOR): Started and played in 11 games for the Aggies, sitting out against Vanderbilt (Oct. 26) and UTEP (Nov. 2) due to injury … blocked for the powerful Aggie offense, which was one of only three teams to rank in the top 10 nationally in scoring, passing and total offense ... Aggies led the SEC in passing, scoring and total offense for second straight season … offense additionally ranked first in the nation in first downs offense and in the top 25 nationally in completion percentage, 3rd down conversion percentage, 4th down conversion percentage and team passing efficiency.
2012 (SOPHOMORE): Cornerstone of an Aggie offensive front that cleared the way for an offense that outscored opponents nearly 2-to-1, led the SEC in rushing, passing, scoring and total offense and ranked third nationally in total offense and scoring offense … blocked for freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel in a record-breaking season that earned him the Heisman Trophy ... started all 13 games at guard.
2011 (FRESHMAN): Had a strong debut season despite being hampered by an ankle injury suffered in his first career start against Arkansas, causing him to miss the next three games … re-entered the starting lineup in game nine and started the final five games of the season … saw action in 10 games with six starts … mainstay of offensive front that allowed just nine sacks in 13 games and set school records for total, passing and scoring offense … offense front paved the way for an offense that averaged 490.2 yards of total offense, 291.1 passing yards and 39.1 points … helped the Aggies rush for 199.2 yard per game, which ranked No. 24 nationally … Aggies were one of the few teams nationally to rank in the top 25 in all four major offensive statistical categories.
HIGH SCHOOL: Coached by Tom Westerberg at Allen High School ... a two-time all-state selection ... The Associated Press second-team all-state pick and unanimous first-team all-district honoree as a senior (2009) ... US Army All-American ... helped lead the way for an Allen offense that averaged over 466 yards per game, allowing just one sack ... a first-team all-state selection by The Associated Press as a junior (2008) ... part of the Eagles’ state championship team ... was the best blocker for an offense that averaged 36.1 points and 225 rushing yards per game ... a first-team all-district pick and a first-team All-Dallas Area honoree by The Dallas Morning News ... chose Texas A&M over offers from Nebraska, Kansas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.
