COLLEGE STATION—The Southeastern Conference Office and ESPN announced today the Nov. 27 Thanksgiving football game at Kyle Field between SEC Western Division rivals Texas A&M and LSU will air at 6:30 p.m. central and will be televised by ESPN.

“We are excited ESPN has decided to air this game in prime time on Thanksgiving and the atmosphere with 106,000 fans inside Kyle Field will be electric,” Aggie Director of Athletics Eric Hyman said.

Texas A&M has a history of playing on ESPN on Thanksgiving night. Beginning in 1985 and through 2011, the Aggies faced the Texas Longhorns 11 times on Thanksgiving in front of the ESPN cameras with the Aggies winning eight of the 11 contests.

LSU leads the all-time series against Texas A&M, 29-20-3. Texas A&M won five straight against the Tigers from 1991 to 1995 while LSU has won the last three contests on the gridiron.

Texas A&M opens the 2014 season with the inaugural game on the SEC Network at South Carolina on Thursday, Aug. 28 beginning at 5 p.m. The Aggies open the home portion of the 2014 campaign against Lamar on Sept. 6 with that game also being televised on the SEC Network with kickoff slated for 6:30 p.m. The non-conference matchup against Rice on Sept. 13 will be televised by ESPN2 with kickoff set for 8 p.m. central.
