Steve Canon is in his seventh year with the Texas A&M equestrian team, and is responsible for the care and maintenance of the Aggies’ facilities at the Brazos County Expo Complex.
In addition, Canon helps prepare the complex and the barn prior to and during all competitions throughout the season.
The Montgomery, Texas native began working with the national champion Aggie squad in 2007 in their final season at Freeman Arena. He has been a part of three national titles and the program’s first Big 12 crown in April of 2011.
Canon earned his degree from Texas A&M in recreation, park and tourism science in 2001 and followed that with a master’s of agriculture in animal science and equine reproduction in 2007. He and his wife, Maleigh, live in Caldwell and are the proud parents of two girls, Kylan and Cayle, and a boy, Keslee.
