COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M equestrian freshman Jordan Soechting had a successful summer of competitions, winning a third-place trophy in Novice Youth Western and placing in the top 10 in Youth Western Riding at the National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) World Show in Tulsa, Okla. this August.

Soechting (New Braunfels, Texas) joins the team for her rookie season and will compete in horsemanship alongside her sister, junior Alyssa Soechting. Jordan’s successes this summer were on her grandmother’s horse, Angel Until Dark or “Hallie”, with whom she has been showing for a just over a year.

“The numbers at the NSBA World this year were not very big, but it is still a very big honor to walk out of the arena with a trophy behind two of the top youth girls in the industry today,” Soechting said. “My trainer, Brad Jewett, has been a huge inspiration to making my dreams come true over the past years and I couldn't of done it without his guidance, so a big thanks to him and my Jewett family as well as a huge thanks to my own family.”

Soechting and the No. 6 Aggie equestrian squad will kick off the season this Saturday at fifth-ranked Kansas State. Live scoring will be available via Twitter at @AggieEquestrian. To learn more about the Texas A&M equestrian team, log on to AggieAthletics.com.
