COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M equestrian senior Emily Williams and junior Paige Russell will represent the Aggies at the fourth-annual FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) Collegiate Equitation Challenge Friday in Wellington, Fla.

The preliminary round of the competition is set to begin at 1 p.m., followed by the consolation round at 2 p.m. The final eight riders will compete at 6 p.m. in International Arena, with the last two remaining riders going head-to-head in the final round. The head-to-head finals will take place at approximately 7:30 p.m. All times are CST.

Williams will compete in equitation over fences, riding against South Carolina's Amber Henter in the preliminaries. Williams is one of four Southeastern Conference athletes selected for the 16-rider competition.

The over fences competition will use the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) head-to-head bracketed format. Eight riders will advance out of the preliminary round of competition, while the remaining eight riders will enter a consolation bracket to begin immediately following the preliminary round. There will also be an equitation-on-the-flat competition, which features four riders. The horses will be on loan from professionals and are unknown to the riders.

Russell will also ride at the event, as she was chosen to be a demo rider in the flat showcase that will take place during the event's finals.
