FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 1-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team closes the regular season on Saturday morning when the Aggies travel to California to match up with Fresno State. Show time is set for 11 a.m. (CDT) at the Student Horse Center.
A&M (9-1) wraps a three-show road swing against the Bulldogs (3-5), who have won three of their five home competitions this year. The Aggies have not competed in a month, splitting shows at Kansas State (10-9) and Oklahoma State (15-8).
"We are looking forward to getting back on the road and competing against a good Fresno State squad," head coach Tana McKay said. "We've had a strong season so far, and we're hoping to build on that momentum as we head out west and then into the Big 12 Championship at home next week."
A&M defeated Fresno 11-8 in the teams' most recent meeting, last year's season opener in Bryan. The Aggies' last visit to Fresno State came in the first year of the varsity equestrian format, a 14-6 A&M win on Feb. 17, 2007.
Texas A&M returns home this coming weekend to host the Big 12 Championships April 1 and 2 at the Brazos County Expo Complex.
