McLiney, Alaniz place ninth at Zone Diving

MINNEAPOLIS --- Texas A&M divers Ford McLiney and Zoe Alaniz grabbed ninth place finishes to highlight the Aggies’ first day of action at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota.

McLiney, a junior from Kansas City, Mo., placed ninth in the men’s three-meter springboard with a 12-dive total of 769.05, while Alaniz, a freshman from Corpus Christi, Texas, took ninth on the women’s one-meter board with a 593.05 total. Neither finish was high enough to garner a coveted qualifying spot at the NCAA Championships.

In other action involving the Aggies, senior Adam Ruiz placed 18th (673.70 in 12 dives), freshman Zachary Stockton placed 19th (331.70 in six dives) and freshman Colton Haffey placed 26th (284.0 in six dives) in the men’s three-meter dive, while senior Jessica Macaulay finished 30th (242.15 in six dives) and freshman Courtney Hattie placed 33rd (231.95 in six) in the women’s one-meter springboard.
