COLLEGE STATION-Will Stallworth has been named a special assistant to the athletics director, Texas A&M Director of Athletics Eric Hyman announced today.

"I have known Will for quite some time and when you combine his experience and education, he is a perfect person to have on our staff," Hyman stated. "On top of his extensive background in facilities, he is a retired colonel in the Air Force and he is an Aggie."

Stallworth graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in civil engineering in 1959. He also holds a master's degree from Troy State University as well as a master's in systems management from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of The Industrial College of the Armed Forces, a one-year post-masters study in management for selected top military officers and government officials. He retired from the Air Force with a rank of colonel.

"It is great to finally make it back home to Aggieland," Stallworth said. "I know a few things have changed since I was last on campus. I look forward to the Kyle Field project and working with Eric again. We had a very open and direct working relationship during my time at TCU."

Stallworth was director of operations at the Air Force Civil Engineering Center from 1972-76, director of facility programs at Headquarters Tactical Air Command from 1977-80 and then director of public works at Langley AFB in Virginia from 1980-84. He worked with two university physical plants serving as the director of physical plant at the United States Air Force Academy from 1984-89 and served as the director of physical plant at TCU from 1989-2012 which included numerous athletic facility upgrades including the football stadium renovation.

"We are about to embark on the largest on-campus football facility improvement in the country and to have someone of Will's expertise assisting is immeasurable," Hyman said.
