COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Former Texas A&M women's basketball standouts Danielle Adams and Sydney Colson made their final 11-person rosters and open the 2011 WNBA season this weekend.

Adams (Kansas City, Mo.), A&M's first All-American, will suit up with the San Antonio Silver Stars and wear jersey #23, while Colson (Houston, Texas) will sport #50 for the New York Liberty. Both Aggies are one of three rookies on their respective teams.

Adams and the Stars begin their season at home against the Tulsa Shock on Saturday, June 4 at 7 p.m. (CT). Colson and the Liberty tipoff on the road against the Atlanta Dream on Sunday, June 5 at 2 p.m. (CT). Fans can watch both games free on WNBA Live Access.

Adams was the 20th overall WNBA Draft pick by the San Antonio Silver Stars, while Colson was picked 16th overall in the April draft by the Connecticut Sun and was then traded to the New York Liberty. She marked the highest selection for any A&M player in the WNBA Draft.

Both Aggies were instrumental in leading Texas A&M on a historical run to its first national championship in April. The pair was part of the winngest senior class in A&M women's basketball history and their legacy will forever remain in Aggieland. Colson ranks amongst the best in career assists and steals, while Adams left her name at the top of several single game, single season and career scoring records.
