COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Officials from both schools announced this week that Texas A&M and Kansas State will face off in men’s basketball non-conference action in each of the next two seasons.

The first meeting is slated for Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Kansas City’s Sprint Center with the Wildcats making a return to College Station in December 2015 where they will face the Aggies inside Reed Arena.

“Obviously, it strengthens our schedule to add a team the caliber of Kansas State for next season,” Texas A&M head coach Billy Kennedy said. “They’re an NCAA Tournament team that will have some key guys back and are coached by Bruce Weber, who is one of the better coaches in the country. Playing this game will help prepare us for the rest of our schedule, especially when we begin facing tough SEC competition.”

The former Big 12 Conference foes have squared off 24 times on the hardwood, with K-State holding a 17-7 edge in the all-time series. The two teams have meet at Sprint Center once before, on March 14, 2008, the Aggies earned a 63-60 win during Big 12 Tournament action. In College Station, Texas A&M leads the series 6-3.

The Kansas State series will mark fourth straight seasons that Texas A&M has faced a school from the Big 12 in men’s basketball since leaving the league for the Southeastern Conference after the 2011-12 campaign. The Aggies have played Oklahoma each of the last two seasons.

Texas A&M’s 2014 non-conference schedule is shaping up to be one of the most challenging slates in recent memory. The Aggies are also participating in the 2014 Puerto Rico Tip-Off which will take place in San Juan Nov. 20-23, 2014, and features defending national champion Connecticut along with Boston College, College of Charleston, Dayton, George Mason, New Mexico and West Virginia.
