UPDATE: Due to on-going construction at Blue Bell Park, the Former Players Weekend has been rescheduled for the weekend of Oct. 26-27. Please see the attached letter from Coach Childress for more details.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M baseball program is reaching out to former Aggie players who are invited to be a part of the 2012 Former Players Weekend.
For those who can make it into town on Friday, the weekend will begin with an opportunity for tee times at Traditions Golf Course. The tee times will begin at 12 p.m., costing $75 dollars, and a reception will take place on Friday evening at the Traditions pool following the golf rounds.
Saturday's events will begin with registration at 8 a.m. and an open house to tour the newly-renovated Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. Batting practice is set to begin at 9 a.m. and a home run derby will follow at 10:30 a.m.
The Former Players Game will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will be followed by a scrimmage of the 2012 Aggies so that attendees can get a sneak peak at this year's team. A fajitas lunch will be served for all players and their families, and there will also be a mini baseball camp so make sure kids bring their gloves.
We are excited about the weekend and hope you can come back to be a part of the festivities. For more information on the Former Players Weekend, contact the Texas A&M baseball office at (979) 845-4810 or fill out the attached application and e-mail it to Jason Hutchins (email@example.com).
