COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Following an outstanding season where they helped lead the Aggies to a Big 12 Championship and a trip to the College World Series, Texas A&M's Tyler Naquin and Michael Wacha are continuing their success this summer with USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team.

Naquin made his Team USA debut on June 26 during the squad's contest against North Shore and has played in four games so far for the Red, White and Blue. Reaching base in each contest, the Spring, Texas, native collected two hits with a double and an RBI during Tuesday's win over the Newport Gulls before enjoying a two-home run, five-RBI performance in Wednesday night's victory over the New Bedford Baysox.

Wacha, meanwhile, made his first appearance on the mound for Team USA on June 28 as he drew the starting assignment against Newport. The right-hander picked up the victory as he tossed five innings without allowing an earned run, while yielding only three hits and notching six strikeouts.

The pair of sophomores became the 13th and 14th Aggies to represent the United States on the Collegiate National Team and the first since Daylan Holt in 1999. This season rather than have team trials to develop a roster, the squad was selected by spring performances, which is the selection method for the professional national team.

Both Aggies garnered All-America accolades for their achievements this season as Naquin, the Big 12 Player of the Year, was named a second team honoree by both the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings and Collegiate Baseball while Wacha garnered third team All-America honors from Baseball America.

Fans can follow all of Naquin and Wacha's time with Team USA this summer by visiting http://web.usabaseball.com/teams/index.jsp?team=2491. Next up for the CNT is a contest with the Gastonia Grizzlies in Gastonia, N.C., Thursday night before facing the 18U National Team in a pair of games July 1-2. Team USA will conclude its summer schedule by facing the Japanese National Team in a series of games July 3-8.
