A decorated setter who never missed a start throughout her career...Instantly settled in at the position and gained a high level of respect and comfort as soon as she set foot on campus as a freshman...Has been the team’s foundation throughout her career and will go down as one of the best if not the best setters in Texas A&M history...Is a lefty who loves to attack the second ball...Her attacking mindset along with her fluid jump set and high contact draws blockers and opens up the offense...Is extremely skilled and deceptive with both her setting and attacking, causing constant frustration for opposing defenses...Enjoys running the middle attack, excels at making good, quick decisions based on what is developing on the defensive side...Has a lot of power in her hands and wrists, enabling her to shoot the ball across the court as needed...Has made vast improvement in her blocking and defense and has become more consistent with her serve...Is intensely focused on her training and technique...Is first to practice and last to leave and makes the most of every moment of her time in the gym...A student of the game, yearns to talk strategy with the coaches and is excellent at implementing the game plan as well as instinctively making necessary adjustments on the fly...Is ultra-competitive and is determined to do her best and to win...Exudes confidence and takes pride in leading the team with an ideal balance of lightheartedness, seriousness, composure and heart.

The team’s four-time annual assist leader, started every match of her career (123) at the setter position and played in all but three sets (452 of 455) over four seasons...Named AVCA Honorable Mention All-America and Texas A&M MVP for the second consecutive year...Also was named to the AVCA All-South Region Team and the All-SEC Team...Ended the 2013 season as the NCAA active career leader in kills/assists/digs...Led the SEC with six triple-doubles on the year, including a league-best three in SEC matches...Also led the league with 21 double-doubles and tied for the league lead with 12 doubles-doubles in SEC matches only...Recorded double-figure kills 13 times and hit a combined .451 when posting 10 or more kills [144 kills, 16 errors, 284 attempts]...Averaged 9.97 assists, 2.14 kills, 0.16 aces, 2.32 digs and 2.53 points per set...Was second on the team and 14th in the SEC with a .303 hitting percentage (minimum 3.0 attempts/set) for the full season...Ranked second on the team and 10th in the SEC with a .332 hitting percentage in league matches only...Directed an A&M offense that ranked 22nd in the nation in kills per set (14.24) and 25th in assists per set (13.23)...Tied a school record with six aces in the 3-0 win against South Dakota State in the season opener...Named MVP at the Texas A&M Invitational and all-tournament at both the UND Classic and the UTSA Classic...Finished her career ranked third in A&M career records with 4,547 assists and 10th with 936.5 points...A member of the Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll and was the recipient of Texas A&M’s prestigious Bill Erwin Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, given to a male and female student-athlete who is in their final year of athletic eligibility and demonstrated outstanding academic and athletic performance.

2012 (JUNIOR)

The 2012 Texas A&M MVP earned numerous awards, including AVCA Honorable Mention All-America, AVCA All-South Region honorable mention and All-SEC Second Team after directing an Aggie offense that led the SEC and ranked in the top 15 in the nation in both assists (13.53) and kills (14.45) per set in all matches...Also earned all-tournament honors at both the Delaware Invitational and the Yale Classic after helping A&M capture the championship title at each event...Continued her streak of starting every match (92) during her career as she was the starting setter in all 31 contests in 2012...Played in 114 of 115 sets and averaged 10.31 assists per set in all matches, ranking sixth in the SEC...Was third in the SEC with 10.81 assists per set in SEC matches only...Her career-high 66 assists in a 3-2 victory at Tennessee (Nov. 21) was the second most assists by an SEC player in all matches as well as conference matches only in 2012...Named SEC Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 5 after averaging not only 13.14 assists per set, but also 2.29 kills, 3.0 digs and 2.50 points per set in wins against Alabama and Arkansas...Led SEC setters with 1.82 kills per set and averaged 4.58 attacks per set...Tallied double-figure kills in three matches and took or tied for team-high honors in kills in two matches, posting a season-high 12 kills in three sets against Stony Brook on Sept. 1 and 12 kills in four sets against Auburn on Sept. 16...Tallied double-figure digs in eight matches, including a career-high 20 at Georgia...Was second on the team with 11 double-doubles...Finished the season ranked fourth in A&M career assists records with 3,440.


Named AVCA All-Central Region Honorable Mention after directing an A&M offense that ranked third in the Big 12 and in the top 45 in the nation in both kills (13.84) and assists (12.84) per set for the full season...Continued streak of starting every match of her career and has played in all but two sets ...Was the only A&M player to play in all 116 sets in 2011...Moved into 10th in A&M career assists records with 2,265...Posted two triple-doubles in 2011 (vs. Baylor 9/28; at OU (11/19), becoming the first A&M player with a triple double since the 25-point scoring format went into effect in 2008 and the first player with a triple double since 2004...Her 60 assists against Oklahoma (10/12) is the most by an A&M player since Kristen Schevikhoven had 60 in a 3-1 win at Colorado on Nov. 21, 2007, using 30-point scoring format...Ranked fifth in the Big 12 with 10.23 aps in all matches...Was fifth with 10.38 assists per set and 0.25 aces per set in Big 12 matches only...Recorded 10 double-doubles, second most on the team...Tallied double figures in kills in three matches and double-digit digs in nine matches.


Was the starting setter in all 30 matches and capped her decorated rookie campaign by being named All-Big 12 honorable mention, as well as being named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team...A three-time Big 12 Rookie of the Week selection, she also received A&M's Most Improved Player award...Led the Aggies and ranked sixth in the Big 12 with 9.71 assists per set for the full season and was seventh in the league with 9.67 assists per season in conference matches only...Ranked second among A&M players with four double doubles, including career highs of 56 assists and 15 digs in a five-set victory over North Carolina, as well as 46 assists and a career-high 12 kills while hitting .588 at Oklahoma...Recorded 50 or more assists in five matches...Ranked eighth in the Big 12 and second among A&M starters with 0.23 aces per set in conference matches only...Her personal-best four aces at Baylor equaled the season high for most aces by a Big 12 player in a five-set conference match in 2010...Got an early jump on her training by enrolling at Texas A&M in January 2010 and serving as the team's only setter during spring drills.


Was a three-year starting setter for coaches Robin Craig and Kristy Fewchuk at Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School (grades 10-12)...The team captain helped lead the Royals to the Provincial high school championship title in 2007, a semifinal finish in 2008 and a quarterfinal finish as a senior...Also won Provincials as a ninth grader and was name team MVP both as a freshman and senior...As a junior, was voted a Top 10 Player in the Province, according to the Winnipeg Sun coaches' poll...Was the No. 4-ranked player in 2009 and was named MVP at the University of Winnipeg High School Girls' Volleyball Tournament after leading the Royals to the gold medal...Played club ball for the Bisons and the Shock...Named the MVP at the 2009 Provincial championship after leading coach David Carrasco's Bison club team to a first-place finish...Went on to place second at nationals...Was an all-star selection in 2007 and 2008, having placed second in Provincials in 2008 and winning Provincials in 2009...Earned MVP honors in basketball and cross county as a ninth grader and was named the 2006 Athlete of the Year.


Allison Jenna Sawatzky is the daughter of Paul and Brenda Sawatzky...Has two older sisters, Steph and Jill, who was an outside hitter at Oregon State...Began playing volleyball at the age of 10...Chose to attend Texas A&M because “the school has the best volleyball situation; I believe these coaches can make me the best player possible; the school offers the widest range of classes; and of course the traditions!”...Most memorable moment of A&M athletic career is sweeping No. 8 Texas as a freshman...Hobbies include cooking/baking, playing with her new dog, Rylee, making things from Pinterest and playing sand volleyball...Has volunteered at Scott and White Health Clinic in oncology and cardiology, at the Brazos Valley Food Bank and with Junior Aggies and also is a yearly volunteer at Residence Hall Move-In Assistance Day, helping new and returning Aggies move into their dorms...Is a three-time CHAMPS/Texas A&M scholar athlete, having received special recognition in both 2012 and 2013 for posting a 4.0 semester grade point average...Majoring in allied health, plans to go to physician assistant school following her graduation in May 2014...Career ambition is to be a physician assistant...Born December 14, 1992, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
