PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif.  - Texas A&M senior Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar is the No. 1 seed in the 32-player singles main draw at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced when it released the bracket today.

Ranked a school-record No. 4 in the preseason ITA singles rankings, Sanchez-Quintanar will take on one of eight players to advance from the qualifying draw Thursday at 10:45 a.m. (PT) at the Riviera Tennis Club.

A&M junior Cristina Stancu also will be competing in the singles main draw and will face No. 2 seed and fifth-ranked Zsofi Susanyi of California, Thursday at 12:30 p.m. (PT).

Singles semifinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships Nov. 8-11 in Flushing, N.Y.

A&M's Wen Sun and Nazari Urbina were eliminated from the qualifying draw earlier today. The pair fell to Melissa Kopinshi and Rachael White of Illinois, 8-5, in the round of 16. Sanchez-Quintanar and Stancu were slated to play Monica Pezzotti and Dylan Windom of Kansas, in the doubles back draw, but the match was not played.
