After defeating Laura Slater of North Carolina, 6-1, 6-1 in the opening round on Friday, Sanchez-Quintanar picked up a pair of straight-set wins today, defeating No. 113 Erin Stephens, 6-4 6-4 and 44th-ranked Mary Clayton, 6-2, 6-2, to advance to the Sunday final.
A&M's Cristina Stancu reached the semifinals of the Black bracket before being eliminated by Whitney Kay of North Carolina, 7-6 (7), 6-1.
Sanchez-Quintanar and Stancu, ranked No. 22 in doubles, will play for a third place finish on Sunday after being defeated by Price and McHale of North Carolina, 8-2. The Aggie pair will take on 38th-ranked Bolivar and Lilekite of Miami Sunday at 9 a.m. (ET).
In other singles action, senior Wen Sun, ranked No. 46, and freshman Stefania Hristov both suffered first round losses in singes. Sun retired her opening match after trailing 5-4 in the third set against Melissa Bolivar of Miami. Hristov fell in her debut, 6-2, 6-2, to Ashley Dai of North Carolina.

Highlights from the Midland Racquet Collegiate Invitational in Midland include Aggie freshman Anna Mamalat reaching the quarterfinals after topping 56th-ranked and No. 3 seed Stephanie Tan of TCU, 6-4, 6-4.
