Ranked No. 16 in the final ITA doubles rankings with senior Cristina Stancu, setting the Texas A&M record for the second consecutive year for highest final ranking...Also was No. 1 in the final ITA Texas Region doubles rankings...The pair, which was ranked as high as No. 12 (April 22) during the regular season and was an all-time high No. 8 (Sept. 6) in the ITA fall preseason rankings, received an at-large berth to the NCAA Doubles Championship for the second consecutive year...Fell in the first round, 6-3, 7-6 (4), to 25th ranked Masa Grgan and Abigail Tere-Apisah of Georgia State...Teamed exclusively with Stancu and finished the year 24-9 overall...Was 6-9 against ranked opponents, including 4-5 against ranked foes in dual matches only...Highest ranked win was an 8-6 victory against No. 19 Pleun Burgmans and Emily Flickinger of Auburn on April 6... 2012-13 (FRESHMAN): The lefty was a mainstay in the Aggies’ lineup in both doubles and singles throughout her rookie campaign...Played doubles with fellow countrywoman Cristina Stancu and was named to the NCAA Championship all-tournament team at the No. 1 line...The duo also received an at-large bid to the 32-team NCAA Doubles Championship, where the Aggies fell to ninth-ranked Hermon Brhane and Whitney Ritchie of Oklahoma in the first round, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4...The A&M tandem was ranked as high as a school-record No. 7 in the nation in doubles in the preseason and regular season rankings and finished the season No. 17, a school record-high for a final doubles rankings...Also was No. 2 in the final Texas Region doubles rankings...Hristov led the team in doubles victories with a 27-12 overall record, which included a 22-11 overall record with Stancu...Went 14-7 in dual matches, including 13-7 with Stancu – 11-7 at the No. 1 line and 2-0 at No. 2...The pair went 6-8 against ranked opponents, including four top-10 victories...Posted an 8-3 victory against eighth-ranked Kristie Ahn and Nicole Gibbs of Stanford in the national championship match, marking her highest ranked win in dual match play...In singles, was 25-11 overall, ranking second on the team for most wins...Was 19-5 in dual matches, going 4-4 at No. 5 and 15-1 at No. 6...Went 7-4 in SEC singles matches and was a two-time SEC Freshman of the Week...Longest win streak was six...Finished the season on a five-match win streak, including three wins in NCAA tournament play...In A&M’s NCAA second-round match against No. 29 TCU, overcame a 5-0 first-set deficit to defeat Federica Denti, 7-6 (4), 6-0, to clinch the point that sent the Aggies on to the Round of 16...Clinched the Aggies’ winning point in four matches overall...FALL RESULTS: Led Texas A&M in doubles victories with a 12-2 record...Opened the fall season going a combined 5-1 with partners Wen Sun and Anna Mamalat before pairing with Stancu in the third tournament of the season, the ITA Texas Regional...The Romanian duo reeled off six consecutive victories, including a 9-7 victory over sixth-ranked Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo of Texas Tech in the round of 16, en route to the ITA Texas Regional championship and an automatic berth to the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships...Hristov and Stancu finished the fall season 8-1, including 2-1 against ranked opponents...Hristov was 5-4 in singles matches, including 1-2 against ranked opponents...Her first ranked singles win was a 6-4, 6-0 victory over No. 109 Jordaan Sanford of Baylor in the second round of the Texas Regional...Entered the spring ranked No. 1in the Texas Region in doubles and No. 15 in the region in singles.

PREVIOUS ATHLETIC BACKGROUND: Competed in numerous ITF tournaments...Reached the singles finals at the Plantation (Fla.) ITF in May 2012...Also in 2012, reached the semifinals at the Cop Milo tournament in Santiago, Chile, and made quarterfinal appearances at the Delray Beach ITF and the Uruguay Bowl...In 2010, she advanced to the semifinals in singles at both the Kentucky International Tennis Derby and the ITF Ukrzakhid...In doubles, reached the finals at the Wichita Falls ITF and the semifinal round at both the Atlanta ITF and the Instiriq Cup in 2011...Her most memorable moment came at a hometown tournament, the $10,000 Iasi, in which she eventually reached the quarterfinals after posting a first round upset over the No. 5 seed Tereza Malikova, a Czechoslovakian who was No. 678 in the WTA world rankings. "It was the last tournament before I came to college and everybody (newspapers, TV, people) was asking me about college," Hristov said.

PERSONAL: Stefania Hristov is the daughter of Adrian and Elena Hristov of Iasi, Romania...Has an older brother, Andrei...Is the first person in her family to attend college in the USA...Began playing tennis when she was 6 years old...Left home when she was 16 to go to Florida and train with Gabriel Trifu...Was finishing 10th grade when she left Romania and entered 12th grade upon arrival to the U.S...Her only official recruiting visit was to Texas A&M, and she described it as, “After the first day, I knew that this is where I wanted to study and play. I was really impressed with the tennis facilities and the coaches, how they treat the girls on the team and the attention they have. Also the campus and the classes impressed me a lot”...Most memorable moment of college career is playing in the finals of the NCAA Championship as a freshman...Hobbies include watching movies, shopping, reading, listening to music, and traveling...Is fluent in Romanian, English and French and understands Spanish and Italian...Is majoring in sport management...Born September 16, 1994, in Iasi, Romania.
