COLLEGE STATION – The No. 9 Texas A&M men’s tennis continues its season opening six match home stand Monday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center with dual matches against SMU and Nicholls State. The match up with the Mustangs is set for noon followed by a meeting with the Cardinals at 3:30 p.m.

The matches were originally schedule for Super Sunday, but low temperatures and precipitation in the Bryan/College Station forced the matches to Monday. Anticipated low temperatures on Monday pushed the matches back to noon and 3:30 p.m.

The Aggies return to action following 6-1 victories over UTSA and Lamar on Jan. 25 at the Mitchell Tennis Center. The sophomore tandem of Harrison Adams and Shane Vinsant improved to 4-0 on the young season with two victories at the No. 1 line against the Roadrunners and Cardinals. The pair downed Yannick Junger and Diogo Casa, 6-0, in the first match against UTSA and later ousted the duo of Nikita Lis and Steven McMullan, 6-2, of Lamar. Last season, both Adams and Vinsant were named to the All-SEC Freshmen team during their first season in Aggieland.

SMU(3-2) is fresh off defeating UTSA, the Mustangs took the doubles point and won four of six singles matches to defeat the Roadrunners, 5-2, in its home opener at the Bent Tree Country Club on Friday afternoon.

Nicholls State (1-1) returns to action after picking up their first win of the spring season over NAIA Xavier (La.) on Friday. The Colonels jumped out to a 1-0 lead after doubles play before taking four of the six matches in singles to win 5-2.
