DALLAS, Texas - The Texas A&M men's golf team concluded its fall schedule Tuesday at Royal Oaks Country Club, finishing in sixth place at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate hosted by Baylor and SMU.
As a team, the Aggies turned in a score of 288 during Tuesday's final round after opening the tournament on Monday with rounds of 286 and 278 to finish with a 54-hole total of 852 strokes.
Oklahoma State (281-278-283=842) won the event while New Mexico and Texas Tech tied for second place. Iowa and SMU rounded out the top five teams at the event.
A&M senior Cameron Peck (68-69-72=209) carded a 72 Tuesday to finish in a tie for sixth individually at four-under par, marking his first top 10 finish of the year and the 15th of his Aggie career. The Olympia, Wash., native climbed into contention for individual medalist honors with biridies on No. 14, 15 and 17 before a double bogey on No. 18 ended his round.
Ian Davis of Oklahoma State and Ian Vandersee of Iowa shared top individual honors as each player finished the tournament seven-under par with a three-round total of 206.
Sophomore Ty Dunlap (74-68-70=212) recorded his third top 20 finish in four events this fall, ending play in a tie for 16th at one-under par.
Senior Drew Evans (71-70-74=215) finished in a tie for 29th while junior Johannes Veerman (73-71-74=218) and sophomore Greg Yates (75-74-72=221) ended the tournament in 44th and 59th place, respectively.
Competing as an individual, A&M junior Ryan Kelley (74-72-77=223) came in tied for 66th place.
Following winter break, the Aggies will return to the links on Feb. 4-5 when they travel to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., to participate in the Sea Best Invitational.
