COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M softball team continues its fall exhibition season Friday when it hosts McLennan College and Galveston College in a Friday mini-tournament at the Aggie Softball Complex. The Aggies will play Galveston at 2 p.m. and McLennan at 6 p.m., and the two visitors will face off in a 4 p.m. neutral game. All times are Central, and each home game this fall is free and open to the public.
The Aggies started the fall season at Houston on Tuesday, dropping a 7-4 decision to the Cougars. The teams played an extended, three-hour game that lasted 12 innings. Sophomore Cali Lanphear led the Texas A&M offensive effort, with a two-run home run, two hits and two runs scored.
The McLennan Highlassies are playing the final two games of their fall season on Friday. The team is led by a seven-player sophomore class, and welcomes 12 freshmen.
The Galveston Whitecaps produced two NFCA All-Americans on the NJCAA level last year, and looks forward to another successful season. Head Coach Ken Delcambre and his NJCAA National Coaching Staff of the Year welcome a squad of 10 sophomores and eight freshmen.
