COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 13 Texas A&M softball team placed four student-athletes on the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-Central Region teams, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced today.

Junior Mel Dumezich and sophomore Cassie Tysarczyk were selected to the All-Central Region first team, while sophomore Emily Albus and junior Meagan May were second team honorees.

Dumezich (Whiting, Ind.), who recently earned her third all-conference honor and her second selection to the All-Big 12 first team, has been selected to the Central Region first team for the third straight year. She leads the Big 12 in overall stats in innings pitched (259.0), wins (28), appearances (47) and games started (37), and ranks second in strikeouts (294). Dumezich is also crucial from the plate this season, leading the team with 44 RBI and 17 home runs. Her 294 strikeouts rank 10th in the nation, and she ranks 12th in victories, 22nd in home runs and 25th in home runs per game (0.31).

Tysarczyk (San Antonio, Texas) has been a mainstay for the Aggies this season, leading the Big 12 in conference stats with 26 RBI. In overall stats, the right fielder ranks second on the team with a .322 batting average on six doubles, a team-best two triples and 33 runs, and eight home runs. Her 40 RBI are second-highest among the Aggies and she is perfect on the base paths, stealing six bags this season. She was recently named to the All-Big 12 first team for the first time in her career and adds the All-Central Region selection to her list of firsts on her career.

Albus (Brenham, Texas) leads A&M from the plate with a .399 average on the season. The speedy left fielder owns an impressive 32 bunt singles and 11 sacrifice bunts this season. She ranks second in overall stats in sacrifice bunts, third in batting average and second with 65 hits. Albus has scored 28 times this season and leads the team with 14 stolen bases. In conference-only stats, Albus ranks fourth in total plate appearances (90) and ties for first in at bats (83). This is the first All-Region award for Albus, who was also selected to the All-Big 12 second team this week.

May (Spring, Texas), who made her second appearance on the All-Big 12 team this season, is earning her second All-Region award in three years. The junior catcher leads the team and the conference with 53 walks this season, while ranking fourth in the nation. She also contributes a team-second 11 home runs and 31 RBI from the plate for a .291 average on the season. May's .483 on base percentage in conference play ranks fourth in the league.
