STANFORD – Texas A&M travels out of state for the first time this outdoor season as they compete in the 30th annual Stanford Invitational this Friday and Saturday. The Aggies will be part of a field that nears 3,300 athletes from the college and high school divisions competing at Cobb Track and Angell Field on the Stanford campus this weekend.

The Aggie women, ranked No. 1 in the preseason outdoor USTFCCCA rankings, and A&M men, ranked No. 3 nationally, will have a crew of 50-plus athletes traveling to Stanford following a successful outing at the Texas Relays. The meet will be streamed live on the internet via Flotrack’s premium service. Live results will be available online at http://www.rtspt.com/events/stanford/invite2014/.

A combination of impressive fields and ideal climate often make the Stanford Invitational a destination for an abundance of distance runners. On Friday there will be six races in both the 1,500 meters and 3,000m steeplechase along with nine races covering 5,000 meters and four for the 10,000.

The Aggie men will have Cameron Villarreal and Ryan Teel running in separate sections of the 1,500 with Isaac Spencer making his debut this season in the 3,000m steeplechase. Contesting the 10,000 meters are Ryan Miller and Austin Wells.

For the A&M women there are three entrants in the 10,000 with Hillary Montgomery in section one while Karis Jochen and Gabby Salazar race in section two. Grace Fletcher will contest the 5,000 while Ashley Chamberlain runs in the 1,500.

Texas A&M will still have its share of sprinters, middle distance, hurdlers, jumpers and throwers in action at Stanford as well.

In the relays the Aggie women will run a pair of 4x100 units and one 4x400 squad. India Daniels will race in both the 100 and 200. Jennifer Madu joins Daniels in the 100 while Aaliyah Brown, Ashley Collier and Olivia Ekpone will run in the 200.

Janeil Bellille and Ibukun Mayungbe are in the 400 while Aliese Hyde and Katie Willard race in the 800. Hurdle races include Shamier Little in the 400 hurdles and LaQue Moen-Davis in the 100 hurdles.

On the men’s side the trio of Jermaine Davis, Prezel Hardy, Jr., and Shavez Hart are entered in the 100 and 200. The Aggies will also have an entry in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Wayne Davis II and Jaylen Wright are contesting the 110 hurdles while the combo of Gregory Coleman and Kenneth Minkah are in the 400 hurdles. In the 800 A&M will have a crew that includes Cameron Cardwell, Hector Hernandez, Josh Hernandez, Gaines Kinsey and Brett Schmit.

Each field event is split between an Invitational and a collegiate division while the high jump will have two pits for each gender.
