MINNEAPOLIS --- Eight members of the Texas A&M men's and women's diving teams will be seeking a spot at the national championship meet when they compete at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships Monday through Wednesday at the University of Minnesota.
Competing at the Zone D qualifier will be senior Adam Ruiz, junior Ford McLiney and freshmen Colton Haffey and Zachary Stockton from the men’s team, along with senior Jessica Macaulay and the freshman trio of Zoe Alaniz, Courtney Hattie and Madison Hudkins from the women’s team.
The competition begins Monday at 11:30 a.m. with the women's 1M competition and men's 3M event following at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday's action starts with the men's 1M at 11 a.m. followed by the women's 3M at 4:30 p.m. The Zone Meet concludes on Wednesday with the platform finale - the women begin at 11 a.m. with the men's competition following at 2 p.m. All the diving action can be seen via live stream at GopherSports.com, and live results can be accessed at divemeets.com.
At the SEC Championships, McLiney earned Diver of the Meet honors after winning the 3m and platform dives and placing fourth in the 1m dive. Ruiz contributed points with a ninth place finish in the 1m and a 12th place finish in the 3m dive, while Haffey placed 22nd in the 3m.
On the women’s side, Hudkins placed seventh in the 1m and 13th in the 3m, Alaniz was 17th in the 3m and 21st in the 1m. Macaulay took 22nd in the platform.
