Aggies Wrap Up AFA Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Texas A&M men’s and women’s diving teams finished the final day of the Air Force Academy Invitational Saturday at the Cadet Natatorium. The Aggies finish the weekend with three top score victories and eight other top ten finishes.

Building on his success from day one, junior Ford McLiney grabbed the runner-up spot in the platform and 1-meter springboard competitions. Off the platform McLiney scored a final of 340.05 through six dives. Finishing 13th in the platform finals was freshman Zach Stockton with a score of 229.80.  From the springboard McLiney scored 364.60.  Senior Adam Ruiz came in 5th in the 1-meter with 319.95 while freshman Colton Haffey finished 10th with 308.20.

Following her victory in the 1-meter Friday, freshman Madison Hudkins finished the 3-meter event in 4th place with a 296.40-point final score. Fellow freshman Zoe Alaniz had a final score of 267.20 to finish 12th.

The divers will rejoin the swimmers to compete next at the Southeastern Conference Championships from February 18-22 in Athens, Georgia.
