HOUSTON --- Texas A&M senior diver Becca St. Germain earned a trip to the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships for a second straight year after finishing third in the one-meter dive at the NCAA Zone D Championships on Tuesday at the University of Houston.

With St. Germain's qualification, the Aggies will take at least 16 entries to the NCAA Championships, which will be contested in Indianapolis March 21-23. The Aggies will be seeking their seventh straight top 10 team finish at the national meet. Junior Jessica Macaulay will attempt to be the Aggies' 17th and final NCAA entry in the platform dive on Wednesday.

"I'm excited to see what we can do at the NCAA Championships," St. Germain said. "We proved ourselves in the SECs, that we're in it to win it. I can't wait to see what this team can accomplish at the national meet."

St. Germain, from San Antonio, Texas via LSU, was in fourth after the preliminaries, but improved to third after six more dives in the finals. St. Germain produced a 12-dive score of 582.30 and finished behind Missouri's Loren Figueroa (623.35) and Minnesota's Margaret Keefer (608.65). She was 1.80 points ahead of fourth place finisher Meghan Houston of Texas.

"I have lots of bad memories of this pool - injuries, balks, you name it," St. Germain said. "It's been a very difficult pool for me, so to come out and qualify for nationals as a senior here is very exciting. It was a big goal for me to get to nationals in my last season so I'm very happy with the finish.
