Senior diver Jaele Patrick and sophomore swimmer Breeja Larson earned Most Valuable Player honors as the Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team honored its 2011-12 season at its annual banquet.

The Aggie women won the 2012 Big 12 Championships in their final season in the conference before joining the Southeastern Conference next season. A&M went on to finish sixth in the team standing at the NCAA Championships, which marked the Aggies' sixth straight top 10 finish at the national meet.

Patrick and Larson accomplished a several program-firsts on their way to Diving MVP and Swimming MVP honors.

Patrick became the first Aggie diver to win a NCAA Championship, and went on to become A&M's first "of the Meet" award winner at the NCAAs with her win in the three-meter and runner-up finish in the one-meter. Patrick finished her career with school records in both springboard dives and with a pair of Big 12 Diver of the Year trophies.

Larson also had several program firsts as she set A&M's first-ever NCAA record at the Big 12 Championships in the 100-yard breaststroke, and then went on to re-break that record in American and U.S. Open fashion on her way to a victory at the NCAA Championships. Larson broke Annie Chandler's NCAA record of 58.06 at Big 12s with a time of 57.92, but then took down Tara Kirk's American and U.S. Open record of 57.77 with a winning time of 57.71 at nationals. Like Patrick, Larson earned Big 12 Swimmer of the Year honors after winning both her individual races and swimming on a pair of Big 12 Champion relays.

Also receiving awards were junior Rebecca St. Germain (Most Improved Diver), sophomore Caroline McElhany (Most Improved Swimmer), sophomore Sarah Henry (Iron Woman), junior Maureen McLaine (Aggie Heart), and senior Rita Medrano (Jody Tanner-Hansen Optimist).

Being named team captains for the 2012-13 season were: Cammile Adams, Larson, Maureen McLaine, and St. Germain.

The Aggies broke eight school records in 2011-12: 1,000 free (McLaine, *9:38.22), 1,650 free, McLaine (15:56.15), 100 back (Paige Miller, 51.78), 200 fly (C.
