COLLEGE STATION, Texas –
The Texas A&M Aggies were selected No. 4 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 25 preseason ranking, the website announced on Monday.

Texas A&M polled first among SEC schools, topping Florida (No. 4), South Carolina (No. 9) and Arkansas (No. 23). The Aggies were also one of just two squads from the Lone Star State on the list with Texas Tech coming in at No. 15.

Defending national champion UCLA was picked first followed by Florida State, Virginia, Texas A&M and Florida in the top five.

The Aggies have five matches scheduled against teams in the Top 25, including Florida (home – 10/3), South Carolina (home – 10/26), No. 16 Marquette (home – 9/14), Arkansas (road – 10/24) and No. 24 UCF (8/29).

Texas A&M returns 18 letterwinners, including 10 starters, from the 2013 campaign and returnees account for 54 of the Aggies’ 56 goals last season. The list of returnees includes a pair of former NSCAA All-Americans in Meghan Streight (2012) and Shea Groom (2013), as well as All-SEC performers Jordan Day, Leigh Edwards, Annie Kunz and Kelley Monogue.

The Aggies finished the 2013 season ranked No. 8 in the NSCAA Coaches Poll. A&M posted an 18-5-2 record for the year, claimed their first-ever SEC regular-season title with a 9-2-0 league ledger and captured an SEC Tournament crown. The Maroon and White appeared in their 19th consecutive NCAA Division I Championship, advanced to the Second Round for the 16th consecutive year and appeared in the Sweet 16 for the 12th time in program history.
