Five Sign A&M Soccer NLIs
"It is great to have this talented group of soccer players signed to play at Texas A&M in 2012," Head coach G Guerrieri said. "All of our coaches are excited about the great skills and potential each of these five players brings to the Aggie soccer program. Even though this class is only half the number of our 2011 class, we're hopeful that it can be just as impactful." Read more...

“Britt is a great, multi-dimensional player who we think is  going to be very good for the Aggies. As an attacking central-midfielder she  helped lead her Colleyville Heritage high school team to advance all the way to  last year’s state championship game (where she faced off against two of our ’11  freshmen sensations – Kelley Monogue and Meghan Streight).  Later in the year she played a key role as a  central defender in helping her Sting ’95 team win their second consecutive  USYS National Championship.
“Britt is a proven winner. Her height and athletic abilities  make her a very dangerous target on set piece situations, while her tactical  awareness and technical skills allow her to be creative and instrumental in the  team’s style and success. One of the things that I most like about Britt’s game  is her sense of calmness even in pressure-packed situations. She makes great  decisions and scores big goals, but she’s also a great influence on the level  of confidence and coolness of her surrounding teammates.
“She has been blessed to have played for some gifted and  incredibly successful coaches throughout her youth career. She plays under  Misail Tsapos at Heritage High School, and has learned from Tatu and Kenny  Medina in the Sting Soccer Club. That great foundation of knowledge will help  her to compete and succeed in the SEC with Texas A&M.”

“Janae is a fantastic signing for Texas A&M. She is the  ‘total player’ whom coaches dream about having on their team. I really think  that her ability to do so many things so well has probably made people overlook  her for some well-deserved personal accolades. I am so excited to have her on  our roster! She has shown to be a great player on the national youth scene, but  she’s going to be a really great player for Texas A&M.

“She was instrumental in her club team’s (So Cal Blues)  winning of the Southern California and Far West Regional Championships. When  her team needed to score, Dido (her coach) would put her on the front line and  she’d score. When they need to dominate the tempo of the match with possession  and composure, he could play her in central midfield. And, if he needed to  ‘lock down’ a lead to win a game, he would move Janae to center-back to lead  their defense. I think the Blues made a great run to the USYS National  Championships in Phoenix last summer, and they did it in large part from  Janae’s great abilities.
“Janae is a very smart and athletically-gifted player. Her  height, athleticism, and solid technique combine to make her excellent in the  air and very smooth with the ball at her feet. Dido and her other Blues coaches  have done an excellent job in developing her into a brilliant player who can  fit anywhere in the team’s line-up. As a freshman, I think she has the ability  to immediately compete for any position in our midfield or our back line.”

“I’m excited about having Kristi at Texas A&M. We’ve  always loved having talented left-sided players on our team, and she definitely  fits that bill. Kristi comes from a great Aggie family and is the product of a  solid soccer culture under the guidance of Coach Randy Evans at Space City  Soccer Club.
“Not only has she has been a great student of the game, but  she’s also an honor roll student at Clear Creek high school, which will suit  her well in the competitive academic and athletic environment at Texas A&M.  Kristi has always been the ‘go-to player’ on her high school and club teams and  the player that her teammates depended on to score goals – and often multiple  goals – every game. Her tactical awareness and lethal left foot make her a  dangerous scoring threat within the flow of a match or on any set piece  situation.
“Adding Kristi and her scoring abilities mean that the  college team that led the nation in scoring last season now has another scoring  weapon in our arsenal. She will do fine in our system and I anticipate her  competing for playing opportunities up front or wide in our attack.”

“Karlie is a very special player who has been positively impactful  for her club, high school, and USA Olympic Development Program teams. She is  fast, skillful, and has an incredible work rate. I’m sure that she is going to  step right into our Aggie soccer culture and quickly succeed.

“Karlie is a dedicated player who has the athletic components  to positively change the game, and the experience to play many positions on the  field.  As a club player her family would  drive her several hours, three-or-more times a week, from South Dakota  to-and-from her training sessions in Omaha, Neb.

“We first discovered her while she was playing as a  winger for Coach Marcus Kelcher on her Toro FC team in Omaha. I was very  impressed with how hard she worked off the ball, and how dangerous she was when  she got it. She was constantly creating scoring situations for her team and  made a hugely-positive impact on the team’s success. Then a few months later,  we were just as impressed with her abilities and tactical awareness while she  was playing as an outside back for the Midwestern USA ODP team.

“She has been a dominating ‘personality player’ on her  past teams and we think she can be an incredible college-level defender, where  she can utilize her skills and athletic capacity to relentlessly attack from  deep, wide positions.”

“Jackie is the kind of player that championship teams are  built around. She’s a tough, smart leader on the field and a great teammate who  will do whatever she can to help her team win.
“Much of the success her club team has had this year  (finishing first in the USYS National League) can be credited to Jackie. If  defense wins championships, you only have to look at her to understand why that  must be so. She is tall, strong, tough, has good speed, and solid leadership  skills.
“The first time I saw her play was in 2009, and she had  already verbally committed to play for the University of Nebraska. I thought ‘Wow  - that kid is really good and we’re going to struggle to get past her when we  play the Huskers.’ But, things changed – Nebraska left our league and she  decided not to attend her parents’ alma mater. So, when we heard that she had  de-committed from Nebraska and wanted to visit A&M, we were obviously very  excited. A few months after visiting College Station she made a pledge to be an  Aggie.
“She is going to fit into our soccer family very well and  will be able to make our Aggie defense a lot stronger during her career.”
