PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Former Texas A&M soccer standouts Alyssa Mautz and Kristin Arnold reported for the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) preseason with Sky Blue FC, the organization announced Tuesday.

Mautz (O'Fallon, Mo.), a two-time All-Big 12 selection with the Aggies, was the 16th overall WPS Draft pick in 2011. The midfielder was named the NSCAA National Player of the Week in 2010. Arnold (Centennial, Colo.) joined her A&M teammate a week later on the Sky Blue FC roster. The goalkeeper was also an All-Big 12 honoree while playing for the Aggies, and a Soccer Buzz Freshman All American.

Sky Blue FC kicked off the season with team meetings and preliminary physical tests. The first complete training day is Wednesday. Preseason roster cuts can be made up until March 31.

"It is exciting to have the players here and to be able to interact with them," Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra said. "However, getting started in the meeting room is one thing, but getting started on the field is what is most enjoyable. It will be great to see everyone on the field so we can start working towards our goals for the season."

The team travels to Turkey March 12-20 for the International Women's Tournament of Champions in Antalya. Sky Blue FC will host its home opener on April 10 against the Philadelphia Independence at Yurcak Field on the Rutgers University campus in Piscataway, N.J.
