COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M soccer team placed four athletes on the NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-Central Region team, the organization announced Sunday.

Senior Rachel Shipley and juniors Bri Young and Merritt Mathias were selected to the first team, while freshman Rachel Lenz was named to the second team.

Shipley is a two-time All-Central Region first team selection, also earning a spot on the 2009 squad. This season she has been named to the Lowe's Senior CLASS All-Senior All-America first team, the ESPN Academic All-America third team, the Academic All-Big 12 first team, and the Big 12 All-Tournament team, and took several Player of the Week honors. The Plano, Texas, native tallied a team second-best 25 points on 10 goals and five assists in 2010 and scored the game-winning goal vs. Oklahoma State (Oct. 24) for the Big 12 Championship.

Young had a career season with 71 shots and 36 shots on goal. The Castle Pines North, Colo., native also scored a career-best four game winners, vs. Purdue (Sept. 12), Nebraska (Sept. 26), Baylor (Oct. 8), and Texas Tech (Oct. 10). She was named to the NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-America fourth team, as well as the All-Big 12 first team.

Mathias netted nine goals on the season and recorded her first career hat trick, vs. Davidson (Sept. 3). The Birmingham, Ala., native kicked four game-winning goals and was a two-time Big 12 Player of the Week selection. Mathias was also named to the All-Big 12 first team and the Big 12 All-Newcomer team.

Lenz was the only freshman named to either the first or second teams. The Round Rock, Texas, native led the backline to ten shutouts, allowing less than two-thirds the amount of shots taken by the Aggies. She was the only freshman selected to the All-Big 12 first team and was also named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer team.

The Aggies ended the season in the NCAA second round with a 15-5-3 record after garnering the program's 11th Big 12 Championship and 16th straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
