Played in 11 games, earning a start in each … contributed 42 solo hits and 56 total tackles on the year, including 2.5 for a loss of 10 yards … had a career game at Ole Miss (Oct. 12), recording 10 solo stops … returned an interception for 10 yards against UTEP (Nov. 2) and added an assisted hit for a loss of two yards … recorded eight pass breakups on the year, with a career-high two against Vanderbilt (Oct. 26) and at LSU (Nov. 23).

De’Vante Harris is the son of Rod and Tez Harris of Mesquite, Texas … born June 30, 1993 … ag leadership and development major ... his father, Rod Harris, ranks as one of A&M’s top receivers and return men in school history … Harris caught 87 passes for 1,395 yards from 1985-88, and held the Aggies’ school record for career kickoff return yards for more than 20 years … Harris played for three teams in a three-year NFL career from 1989-91, and was drafted in the fourth round of the 1989 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers.
