Won the backup quarterback job in fall camp … saw action in four games, mostly in relief of starter Ryan Tannehill but also in short yardage situations late in the season … completed 4-of-5 passes for 40 yards with a long completion of 23 yards … rushed for 33 yards on nine carries and posted his first career touchdown against Kansas State … completed season-high 4-of-4 passes for 40 yards against Idaho … rushed for 24 yards on five carries against Kansas.

Redshirted … enrolled in January and went through spring drills with the Aggies.

Coached by Ken Gray and Shoemaker High School in Killeen ... an honorable mention all-state selection as a junior (2008) by the Texas Sports Writers Association ... threw for 2,150 yards and 22 touchdowns, while gaining 513 yards on the ground ... missed the 2009 football season due to injury ... chose A&M over offers from Purdue and Houston.
