NESHANIC STATION, N.J. - Texas A&M's Alex Neal turned in a 36-hole total of 14-over-par 158 in stroke-play qualifying at the 2012 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links June 18-19 at the 6,221-yard, par-72 Neshanic Valley Golf Course.

From Baird, Texas, Neal's low round came on Monday with a 6-over-par 78. She followed that with an 8-over 80 on Tuesday.

Her score of 158 at the 6,221-yard, par-72 course positioned her tied for 121st among nearly 160 qualifiers.

Neal, who redshirted for the Aggies in 2011-12, had three birdies, 18 pars and 13 bogeys at the championship.

The 36th U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links is one of 13 championships conducted annually by the United States Golf Association, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs. Neal shot a 76 in the qualifier at Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth, Texas, in order to play in the championship.
